Menu Plan for the Week 3-27-11

It's been two weeks since I've checked in. Time is whipping past me faster than I'd like to think! We have had an interesting couple of weeks; a bit of travel, saying goodbye, and fighting flu bugs that have super powers, and craziness in the classroom have been on the agenda.

Our bodies are finally getting back to 100% for which I am extremely thankful. K and I had to break down and see the doctor last week. It turns out our flu had morphed into the start of bronchitis and strep throat, so antibiotics had to be prescribed along with an inhaler for me. I was disappointed to have to use traditional medicine, but this lingering sickness was ridiculous.

I am on a mission to boost us all up with our diet, so more fruits and veggies will be ready for snacks from now on. I know we are exposed to a lot of other peoples' germs, but I am going to do my best to keep us all on the right track.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Here is what we have planned to eat for this week:

Breakfasts: Cereal, Oatmeal, Biscuits, Muffins, Pancakes, French Toast, Waffles, Fruit

Lunches: Ham or PB & J Sandwiches, Meat and Crackers, Leftovers, Fruit or Veggies, String Cheese, Hard Boiled Eggs, Granola Bars, Fruit Leather, Homemade Chewy Bars

Menu Plan for the Week 3-13-11

Let me just say I am so glad to be healthy again! I have been fighting some fever and ache bug for the last week and a half. I am so not used to being sick. It was not a pretty picture. My poor family did not know what to do! Thankfully I rested and took time to get back to normal, so hopefully I will be able to stay that way.

We have a week of parent conferences and other family obligations. We lost my beloved grandmother on Friday, so we will be saying our goodbyes sometime this week. I am so sad she has passed, but I know she is a happy lady to be reunited with my pap! It is hard to think that I can't just call her anymore, but I know she is not longer suffering with a body that was quitting on her. Memories are flooding my mind and I can't help but smile. She was always there for me and I will always treasure the times we spent together!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Ten

Today my blue eyed boy turns ten years old. Has it really been ten years already? We raced to the hospital and barely made it before he decided he was ready to come into this world. He came out running and hasn't stopped yet.

I love this picture~ Lego in one hand and Vulcan greeting in the other!

My sweet, sensitive boy. L has the heart of a protector. He wants everyone to feel safe and loved. If he sees someone sad or upset he is comforting and kind. If a baby cries he does silly things or sings to the baby to quiet him down. He feels more deeply than I think I have ever felt.

L is also fearless. He is not afraid to try new things and dares to play hard. Sometimes, okay a lot of the time, that fearlessness gets him hurt. He is our bruiser, scars and broken bones to prove it. He jumps up after a crash and yells, "I'm alright!" It cracks me up.

L has an imagination and a knack for piecing stories together. He loves writing and has been making movies based on his stories. We encourage him and I watch him as he becomes more proficient at weaving stories. I eagerly await what this filmmaker will do with his future. He knows what he wants to do in his life and he is working hard to make it happen. USC has a bright student prepping for their film school!

My blued eyed boy tangles his legs with me on the couch any chance he gets. He is a hugger and a love bug. I cherish these moments. Feeling him curled up with me makes my heart smile.

Happy, Happy Birthday My Blue Eyed Boy! I hope you continue to enjoy life and all it has to offer!

Love you always,
Mom
