In a few hours I'll officially be a year older...

what a year we've had...

lots of good and lots of growth...

my family is in such a good place!

I am so much more comfortable in my own skin than ever before.

I guess that is one of the perks of getting older!

I am so grateful for another three day weekend!

I'd tell you my school practiced a lock down.

What a crazy time to be a teacher, 

but our school rocked the drill!

I'd tell you I went on a great bike ride a couple of days go.

I cannot wait to go again.

Sunny forecasts are raising my spirits and my bike is ready!!

I'd tell you my boys were loud this week.

Sunshine woke them up and they were "battling" 

every. single. day.

I love them, but there is no volume control.

I'd tell you I surprised the boys on Valentine's Day.

Donuts from the donut shop for a sweet breakfast.

I'd tell you waiting and not knowing if there is a new job 

out there for me

is hard!

I'd tell you my decision to homeschool 

two of the boys next year is being reaffirmed everyday.

It's going to be hard and wonderful all mixed in one!

The best part is they are excited.

I'd tell you I sent handwritten notes to a few friends this week.

Why did I ever stop doing that?

It was so good to write a little note and send some love to special ladies!

Coffee Date {brave}

I'd tell you I was brave this week!

I turned in my paper work for a new teaching position for next year.

This is big for me...

I am super comfortable and happy where I am teaching now,

but commuting has gotten to be too much.

A change is needed and I pray I can make the move.

If we were having coffee...

I'd tell you kids and teachers at my school 

were dropping like flies.

The flu and this super cold virus has hit us hard.

My poor class has looked out of it all week!

I'd tell you I am sewing this weekend!

I have a little project for another teacher

and some things I want to finish.

I have to get back in my groove!

I'd tell you I need to seriously sit down and scratch out

a to-do list.

I have a bunch of things I need to work on,

so I better write it down.

I'd tell you Lukas is going to science camp soon.

Kenny and I are not thrilled with this idea,

a week without the blue-eyed boy...

not our idea of fun.

He, however, will love it,

so we will suck it up and let him go.

This is Why

Second graders give their teachers notes and pictures all. the. time.

Every now and then you get one that is extra cute or extra sweet.

At the end of the year I always return the pictures to their creator,

but the one I got a couple of days ago is going to stay with me forever!

Translated from a sweet 7 year old girl...

"Do you know how I learned?  

Because Mrs. Perryman made it happen.  

If you want to learn how to do 

everything go to Mrs. Perryman's class"

If that doesn't make a teacher smile, I don't know what would.

All of the trials, challenges, and triumphs come down to this...

did I make a difference in the life of a child?

Hello Monday {fresh week}

Hello brand new week...

my cold is still hanging around,

but so much better than last week!

Hello sewing machine...

poor thing has been neglected since last week.

I will remedy that this week.

Hello growing boys...

new helmets for all three...

So thankful their ride to school is safe,

but I'm not taking any chances.

Hello being brave...

My cover letter, résumé, and application are complete,

now I need to take them in...

makes me so nervous,

but the change would be so good for my family.

{fifteen}

For fifteen years this boy has been my sidekick.

He is so me in many ways, a bit his dad,

 and completely sure of where he is going with his life.

His wit and humor have had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe

and his willingness to help out makes me proud.

His reasoning and logic skills are scary brilliant and noticed by most that meet him!

I think we've raised a great kid that has an amazing future ahead.
