Getting Lunches Ready

A lot of kids are heading back to school, so many of you know about the morning chaos that ensues! One way I have taken some of the stress off of the morning routine is with a night before routine. I get everyone's lunch bags ready the night before. I get the snacks and juices loaded into the bags and take the "orders" for the sandwiches. It makes my life so much easier to have one less thing to worry about has everyone gets ready for their day. I can have their bags completely ready by the time they wake up, so I can just concentrate on them. I love it!

This is what my counters look like the night before school.

So that is my mom tip of the day to make life easier during those busy school mornings! Head on over to Jenny's at Zack's Gang for more mom tips!

Until next time,

  1. Nice job! I'm off to make lunches right now. My son has the same star wars dink holder.

  2. Hi Amy Lynne! Great tip! Most of my kids do their own lunches now, so we don't have the chaos there, but we sure do pick out our clothes the night before- that helps with MANY meltdowns in the morning about "what am I going to wear?!" Our children certainly benefit when WE are more organized!! Thanks so much for joining me- hope you'll come back next week too ;-)

  3. Lunch boxes are one of the things I dislike about going back to school (plus loosing the time together as you mentioned in Friday's post), but I know if I would do your suggestion (the night before) it would help a lot :). Thanks for the encouragement!

It only took us one day to feel like we're ready for the new school year. It is good that it's that way!
