Having Helpers

As you guys already know I started getting my stuff back into my classroom this week. Usually I go here and there during the summer to work, but this year we all had to turn in our keys and take the summer off! I wasn't sure I would be okay with this...after all it is my classroom and my stuff but, I survived! Hehehe...

When I started teaching my boys were just little guys, not able to help but good at playing with stuff in my room. This year going back is different for me because the boys are big enough to really help me! K and I got back from an appointment and I told the boys we would be heading over to my school soon. I started getting things ready to go and they jumped in and started packing the car with me. They are actually big enough now to carry my way too heavy boxes. We were able to get loaded up in no time flat! We got over to the school and unloaded even faster. They were helping me put things away and getting things ready for my students. With everyone doing something to help I was able check a lot off my list in a short period of time. I was so appreciative of their help! I still have a lot to do, but it will get done in plenty time for the back to school night.

So on this Finer Things Friday I have to say seeing my boys grow up to be helpful men is definitely a finer thing!

Visit Amy's for Finer Things Friday and see what everyone else is celebrating.

Until next time,

  1. Awww! That's wonderful. I have a 16 month old son, and it's hard for me to imagine that one day he'll be that big!

Best of luck with the start of school. Teachers are the BEST!

  2. What a great post. I raised and released 2 sons and I know what you are talking about! The only thing God uses to make men, is little boys. Getting to raise little boys and watch them mature into great men is such a blessing. Both my boys are married, have little guys of their own and are now building their own households of faith. Wow. Thanks for reminding me of the great privilege I had. Press on!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment on my God thing through the screen door. I do so love it when God "shows up" and reminds me through the most mundane moments, that He is quite present in my life!! Blessings.

  4. Willing helpers are such a blessing. I've told my oldest many times lately how "nice it is to have a big girl around to help me out." She loves the praise. :)
